Tari and Masa at the Experimental Station’s Open Mic

img_7051.jpg

On Friday, April 6, I stopped by at the Experiemental Station at night with Masa and Tari, for its open mic. Of course, Masa brought her saxophone with her.

While people from the community freely volunteered to play instruments and sing, Masa volunteered to play the saxophone. She played her own composition, “Don’t Kill,” that she played at the class dinner. After Masa started playing, Tari went to the front area, and started to dance and move freely with Masa’s music. I was so luckly that I could see another spontenous performance by Masa and Tari there!

After we left the Experimental Station, we went to the Checkboard Lounge with Noriko, a student in Social Movements class. There, I could also listen to another performance by MASA, this time with a local blues band! The report by Noriko is posted on the class blog of the Social Movements class.
